VEHICLE CHAIN ACCIDENT: 2 Killed in Fiery 210 Freeway Chain Crash

Claremont – At least two men were killed Thursday evening in a 10-vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of Foothill (210) Freeway, resulting in heavy traffic into Los Angeles County, the authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, five vehicles, including a big rig, burst into flames during the accident which happened at around 6:04 pm at San Antonio Avenue in Upland, approximately two miles east of the Los Angeles – San Bernardino County line.

San Bernardino County Deputy Coroner Cathy Notaro reported that two unidentified males were found dead in one of the vehicles involved in the 10-vehicle pileup.

All the eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed for more than five hours and were reopened at about 11:30 pm, a CHP dispatcher said.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
