BOATING ACCIDENT: 2 Men Died, 8 Others Injured in San Diego Bay Boat Accident

San Diego – At least two men died while eight other passengers were injured after a 25-foot sailboat capsized around 5 p.m., Sunday, in San Diego Bay.

Reports confirmed that the boat’s ten passengers include five males, three females and two children. Chao Chen, 73 and his son Jun Chen, 48 died at the scene while the injured individuals were rushed to the nearest hospitals.

Witness, John Campbell, said the boat seemed overloaded and was just sailing with its jib not its main sail. “I and my friend were the first to try to rescue the victims,” he affirmed.

Authorities are still conducting further investigations to determine the real cause of the incident.
