2010 Best and Worst Car Brands According to Consumers

The best car brand winners are in and for some, the results are surprising.

In the 2010 Car Brand Perception Survey conducted by Consumer Reports, it claimed that the brands who had the greatest success with consumers were car manufacturers who excel in multiple areas, such as Toyota, Ford, Honda, and Chevrolet.

With that conclusion, it is hardly surprising that these car brands made it at the top of the list:

  1. Toyota
  2. Ford
  3. Honda
  4. Chevrolet
  5. Volvo
  6. Mercedes Benz
  7. BMW
  8. Cadillac
  9. Subaru
  10. Lexus

The bottom feeders, or car brands who got the least favorable perception from the consumers are the following:

  1. Hummer
  2. Saab
  3. Mercury
  4. Mazda
  5. Suzuki
  6. Infiniti
  7. Jeep
  8. Lincoln
  9. Kia
  10. Mitsubishi

The Consumer Reports however, notes that brand perception has been largely influenced by marketing and news coverage.

Thus, even if a car brand is popular, consumers must still take time to research about the features of the car and what would best suit his needs as well as the needs of his family.

Being popular doesn’t always equate to car safety.
