Rodney Mesriani attended the 25th CAALA Las Vegas Convention
Mr. Rodney Mesriani, Esq., the Mesriani Law Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was among the more or less 2,000 participants who attended the 25th Annual Las Vegas Convention of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) on September 6 – 9, 2007. This activity was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada.
CAALA is currently the largest local association of plaintiff attorneys in the country, wherein Mr. Mesriani is a member and shares the principles of representing individuals who have been harmed because of preventable medical or corporate negligence and misconduct.
Mr. Mesriani took part in the education sessions that were the main feature of the CAALA silver anniversary convention. Distinguished legal consultants, jurists, legal professionals and members of CAALA presented these education sessions.
Attendance of all the sessions during the convention qualifies the participants to 20 MCLE (Minimum Continuing Legal Education) credits. The sessions in this silver anniversary convention have included 4 hours of Legal Ethics, 1 hour of Bias Elimination and 1 hour of Substance Abuse Prevention.
The country's leading plaintiffs and defense lawyers, who are among the more than 100 speakers in the sessions, also graced the four – day Convention, along with well-respected jurists, law professors and legal consultants. Furthermore, 137 legal service providers had the chance to exhibit their feats in the exhibit hall opened for two days during the convention.
The Convention immediately started off on September 6, 2007, with an afternoon of educational sessions on Insurance Bad Faith and Discovery.
During the evening, a Kickoff party for the early registrants that started on 6:00 pm featured the 2007 NFL Season. Participants were able to watch the big game, New Orleans at Indianapolis, on a large screen while enjoying complimentary refreshments. Door prizes were given for lucky attendees from the co-sponsors, Juris Productions, The James Street Group, City National Bank, and Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP.
On September 7, Friday, the regular check in and registration commenced. Sunrise and morning educational sessions were dedicated on topics, Contractual Arbitration, Mock Trial Part 1, Damages, Medicine for Lawyers, and Advanced Trial Skills.
Meanwhile, afternoon sessions took on the topics, Mock Trial Part 2, Business, Litigation, Expert Witnesses, and Law and Motion.
After the afternoon sessions, the participants were accommodated at the Friday Judges' Reception to officially celebrate the 25th Silver Anniversary of the Las Vegas Convention. The evening cocktail party was co-sponsored by Millenium Settlements and Panish Shea & Boyle, LLP.
On September 8, Saturday the sunrise and morning educational sessions were spent on topics, Mock Trial Jury Analysis, Specialty Credits, and Auto Collision Cases. Moreover, a discussion on the 25 years of the Las Vegas Convention was given, giving commendation to the speakers of the very first Convention program held in 1983.
The afternoon sessions were then spent on sessions with topics, Professional Negligence, and Employment. It was topped off with the Consumer Attorneys of LA Master Speaker Series with a discussion on "Crafting the Winning Closing Argument: Advice and Anecdotes."
Other activities opened during Saturday were the CAALA's Town Hall Buffet Lunch meeting sponsored by Baron and Budd. New Lawyers were also welcomed in the 80's Saturday Cocktail Party, as organized by the Consumer Attorneys New Lawyers Committee. A special "lounge" area was designated in honor of the newly formed group.
Topping off the triumphant series of activities was the Saturday Cocktail Party that is themed according to the first year of CAALA Convention in 1983. A Silent Auction that is aimed to benefit the Consumer Attorneys Public Education Fund (CAPEF) was also organized. The Alder Law, along with CAPEF co-sponsored these set of activities.
On Sunday morning, the last batch of educational discussions was dedicated on Legal Ethics topic.
