Hybrid Cars and Accident Laws

The creeping effects of climate change have resulted not only in global changes in many government policies and regulations related to the environment but also to other laws affected by the major shift in the use of technology – specifically gas-emitting machines like cars.

The introduction of hybrid cars is a big step toward the reduction of carbon gases responsible for global warming. There are several reasons why these eco-friendly cars are hailed as a successful alternative to gas-fueled cars, besides being environment-friendly.

According to studies, green cars are fuel efficient since they are better designed and made of lighter materials. They also run on dual engines – one run by batteries and another by petrol engine.

In addition to this, green car owners are given lower tax bills as government incentive for using the environment-friendly car.

On the other hand, hybrid cars have its disadvantages. Many people complain about hybrid cars as being expensive or costly. Many motorists also feel a different experience driving hybrid cars which engines are often silent, or produce no sound, a feature that is also a potential risk for pedestrians.

With the growing popularity of hybrid cars, we can expect more Americans to use these cars sooner than we think.

Wouldn’t it be sooner too that we revise our car accident laws to suit the change?

We can surely expect amendments in these laws as insurance coverage may also see changes. And unless we change the way we drive or treat the environment, the disasters that we will confront on the road or the whole planet will be far from over.
