Multi-Vehicle Collision: CHP Investigating Multi Vehicle Accident in Malibu Canyon Road

May 18, 2010

Malibu – The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of a multi-vehicle collision Road that injured three people and closed the road in both directions for almost two hours in Malibu Canyon.

The car accident, which involved four vehicles, occurred at about 8:00am just south of the first tunnel near the Pacific Coast Highway.

The CHP has yet to find out what caused the accident and it was still unknown if all vehicles involved were moving in the same direction or if one or more crossed over the center divider.

Motorists were detoured along Piuma Road until the thoroughfare was opened an hour and a half later.

LA County fire officials called for a helicopter to transport the three injured people but had to settle for an ambulance due to foggy weather.

The identities of the car accident victims were not released by authorities.
