Motorcycle Accident: CHP Officer Loses Leg in Fresno Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident

Fresno – Authorities are looking for a hit-and-run driver who caused a motorcycle accident that led to A CHP officer losing his leg last Tuesday in northwest Fresno.

The victim was identified as Lincoln McKenna, an 8-year veteran of the California Highway patrol.

The hit-and-run vehicle accident occurred at around 5:15 pm near the intersection of Herndon and Palm Avenues.

According to Fresno Police, McKenna was legally moving between two vehicles aboard a Kawasaki KLR motorcycle along Herndon and approaching the intersection when a motorist riding a Toyota Tundra apparently took offense to McKenna’s maneuver.

As the light in the intersection turned green, the Toyota Tundra struck the McKenna’s motorcycle that forced him into the left lane.

After which, the Tundra then veered into the lane forcing McKenna to crash into the curb.

The Tundra did not stop and immediately left the motorcycle accident scene.

A spokesperson from the CHP confirmed that McKenna lost a part of his right leg after undergoing surgery.

The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a silver four-door Toyota Tundra Pickup.

Authorities have asked anyone who has information about the motorcycle accident to contact Detective Brian Hance of Fresno Police at 559) 621-5057 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.

A cash reward will be given for information that will lead to an arrest and conviction.
