PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Children run over by big rig, driven by father

June 15, 2010

Los Angeles - At least two children died after a semi-trailer truck run over accident, driven by their own father on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Their father was preparing to wash the truck in the Arrowlink USA shop near Wilmington Avenue and Lomita Boulevard, when Alexander Flores (4) and Joel Flores (15) fell off and were run over, reports said.

According to Los Angeles Police Department, the father had disjointed the tractor from the big rig. He was unaware that his two younger sons were on board. The four-year-old and the 15-year old boys fell, hit the pavement, and were run over.

The eight-year-old was able to jump off and saw how his brothers ran under the wheels.

Police authorities were still investigating the details of the accident. The father may face child neglect charges. The Department of Children and Family Services will conduct an assessment on the family's mishap.
