Disabled Woman Dies a Week after Lakeside Hit-and-Run Accidentm

January 14, 2010

San Diego – The disabled woman who figured in a hit-and-run accident in Lakeside last week has died of her injuries.

Judith Tellez, 63, was crossing Old Highway 80, which was near her home, when she was struck by a Ford Expedition, CHP officials said.

Tellez sustained broken bones on her back and legs after the pedestrian accident.

Further examinations showed that she also suffered a skull fracture, which sent her into coma until the night of her death.

CHP said it is following up on some leads that they hope will lead them to the hit-and-run driver.

According to witnesses, the Ford Expedition was dark colored and may have some front end damage as a result of the collision.

Anyone who has information about the accident can call the CHP at (619) 401-2000 and ask for accident investigations.
