Discrimination Case against Miley Cyrus Dismissed

November 20, 2009

A judge has dismissed a discrimination case that was filed against pop star Miley Cyrus claiming that a photo of the singer and her friends who were pulling back their eyelids harmed Asians.

The claim, which asks for $4,000 in damages for every Pacific Islander and Asian who are living in LA County, was filed by Lucie Kim in a class action suit earlier in the year.

The lawsuit stated that Cyrus, 16, violated a state law prohibiting businesses from discriminating people based on gender, ethnicity, and race, among other traits.

The photo was posted on different websites in February and the singer reportedly apologized about it.
