CAR ACCIDENT: Driver badly hurt in Interstate 80 Crash

Vallejo - A 50-year-old driver suffered serious injuries Monday morning after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed on Interstate Highway 80, the California Highway patrol reported.

Richard Steinberg of Vallejo, was driving his Saturn along I-80 when it hit the center divider and overturned near the American Canyon Road. The car landed upright and blocked two lanes.

According to authorities, Steinberg was driving at a high speed before the solo accident happened at around 9:17 am. Witnesses said Steinberg was traveling at approximately 90 mph.

Two off-duty firefighters and several witnesses helped Steinberg get out from the vehicle and provided him first aid until paramedics arrived. Steinberg was brought to Kaiser Permanente, Vallejo Medical Center for treatment.
