February 7, 2011

Mission Valley - A 60-year-old cyclist died after colliding with a truck on Friars Road on Saturday afternoon, police reports said.

The cyclist, whom authorities identified as Ben Acree, and who is also known as the founder of San Diego's AWS commercial Real Estate, attempted to make a lane change when he collided on the side of an eastbound truck near Rancho Mission Road, according to San Diego reports.

Rescuers arrived and tried to revive Acree but he died minutes shortly.
