MULTI-VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Elderly Driver Loses Consciousness, Causes 3-Vehicle Crash in Ventura County

Ventura County - A 50-year-old driver has lost consciousness while traveling, causing a three-vehicle accident in Oxnard, said reports.

The accident occurred along Victoria Avenue, north of Channel Islands Boulevard, before 8 a.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the elderly driver Humberto Moncada, 50, from Oxnard, was traveling south in his pickup truck when he apparently suffered from a medical problem, causing him to lose consciousness and hit a sport utility vehicle driven by Jody Campbell, 54, from Oxnard.

Reports said the impact caused the SUV to collide with another vehicle and overturn. Meanwhile, Moncada’s pickup continued to move westbound before it crashed into a masonry wall.

According to authorities, the elderly driver was rushed to St. John’s Regional Medical Center to receive immediate medical treatment for a minor injury and serious medical problems. Meanwhile, Campbell was also brought to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
