PLANE ACCIDENT: Falcon Jet Veers off Van Nuys Airport Runway, Plane Occupants Unhurt

Los Angeles - A Mexican-registered twin jet bound for Tucson, Arizona swerved at a runway during its take off from Van Nuys Airport on Friday at around 1:15 pm. It skidded halfway off the runway into the emergency area. The plane made a full stop at 75 feet from the runway edge, according to Federal Aviation Administration reports.

Luckily, the three people aboard did not sustain injuries.

Reports said that the jet showed black skid marks on the runway into the safety lane. Van Nuys Airport crew had to suspend operations for few hours to remove the troubled jet from the sole functioning track.

Details on the name and owner of the plane have remained undisclosed; some men near the jet concealed the markings with plastic sheet. Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.

Van Nuys Airport caters to chartered, private, and small commercial planes. It is known for its exclusive airline service to government officials, businessmen, and Hollywood personalities.
