Pomona - Investigations have been conducted to look into the cause of a small plane crash that resulted in the death of a pilot near the Pomona Fairgrounds last week, aviation officials announced.

Authorities said the accident occurred at around 2:15 pm and involved a single-engine Mooney M20. The small plane crashed about a mile southeast of Brackett Field where it was bound to land.

Though there were no reports of injuries on the ground, rescuers who responded at the scene said the only fatality in the accident is the one aboard the plane.

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
