TRAFFIC NEWS: LAPD Supervises Traffic near School Zones as Holiday Break Ends

January 09, 2012

Van Nuys – Los Angeles Police Department’s traffic division is all set to strictly implement 25mph speed limit in Van Nuys’ school zones to ensure safety of students heading back to school from holiday break, reports said.

LAPD officials have said that the department will conduct a Traffic Safety and Enforcement Operation at Lemay Street Elementary on Monday.

Authorities have reminded parents and caretakers should only drop off their children at designated areas to avoid accidents.

According to authorities, students ages 5 to 9 are the common victims of pedestrian accidents near school zones.
