Lindsay Lohan's Series of DUI Accidents

It seems that eating disorder, alcohol and drug abuse, going to a rehab, extreme partying, and petty fights are not enough for some celebrities who have different ways to get the limelight. Today, it seems that someone is not famous enough if she or he is not involved in DUI crashes.

Lindsay Lohan is just one of the many celebrities involved in a DUI-related car crash. However, her case has captured the attention of the public and media especially since she grew up in front of the camera and most people associated her with the sweet, freckled-face girl she played on the “Parent Trap”.

The actress’s first DUI accident

In May 2007, Lohan crashed her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 in Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills around 5:30 am. She was then rushed to the nearest hospital to treat her minor injuries.

During an investigation, police found cocaine inside her car. With this finding, authorities charged the actress with misdemeanor for driving under the influence.

Police believe the actress is in hyperactive state, possibly due to cocaine, at the time of the crash. According to police report, she was over-speeding when she hit a curb on a road.

Struggle with drugs and alcohol

In previous reports, the young actress admitted that she was using drugs despite having a successful career propelled by the 2004 box office hit “Mean Girls”.

However, the actress denied rumors that she is continuously using illegal drugs.

It is not a secret that the young star was raised by an abusive and alcoholic father, Michael Lohan. According to media reports, the actress’s family has a restraining order against him.

Meanwhile, Lohan agreed to enter in a rehab for alcohol abuse in May and was released after few weeks. However, a day after she left the rehab, she was spotted drinking and partying again.

And because of her notorious partying lifestyle, even the movie producer of “Georgia Rule” publicly called her an “unprofessional and irresponsible actress” as she was always absent during the filming of the movie.

Lohan’s relapse

Just two months after Lohan’s first DUI-related crash, she was again involved in a car accident.

Authorities filed a second DUI case and alleged she was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was also charged with a felony crime of drug possession.

When the police brought the actress to the station, they conducted an alcohol-test which showed that she has a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent, higher than the federal limit of 0.08 percent.

Judge ruling on Lohan’s case

In March 2009, a federal judge said that Lohan has complied with the terms of her sentence for two DUI cases. However, the judge ordered the actress to attend an alcohol-education class to treat her addiction.
