September 10, 2009

Los Angeles – Los Angeles-based company, Team Work Trading, has announced a recall of 1,400 children’s animal masks and accessories like pendants from anime shows and video games which have been found to contain high levels of lead.

The lead-laced products recalled included children’s masks shaped like a cat’s face and several metal necklaces and pendants depicting famous anime shows and video games such as a Bleach dog-tag, a Naruto necklace, Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy necklaces and even a Mickey Mouse pendant.

All the items were made from China and were sold nationwide at gift shops and modeling stores from November 2008 through March 2009 for the price between $4 and $8.

Although Team Work Trading has said that no injuries have been reported, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised consumers to immediately stop using the said items. Buyers and users may contact Team Work Trading for a refund or exchange at (213) 680-4489.
