PERSONAL INJURY LAW: Mercedes Benz to Launch Driving Academy for Teens in LA

April 28, 2011

Los Angeles– Giant automaker Mercedes Benz is planning to open a new driving school for teen drivers which will open in Los Angeles this fall, reports said.

The automaker said the Mercedes Benz Driving Academy will offer courses which involve more than traffic rules but will also teach teen drivers with car control skills. The driving program will combine online training, problem-solving exercises and 16 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

A Daimler AG manager said the academy has a “unique coaching method” and curriculum that will ensure that teens will learn how to drive safely. About 20 high schools in the Los Angeles area will get free driver safety seminars from the academy.

Motor vehicle crashes is considered as the leading cause of death among teens in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
