Mesriani Law Group Recovers $50,000.00 for Client in Disability Discrimination Case

LOS ANGELES - Mesriani Law Group’s Employment Law Division recently obtained a settlement for an employee of a national charitable organization, Mr. Hamilton, for the organizations discrimination against him on the basis of a disability and age.

Mr. Hamilton, who was 51 at the time of the incident, was injured during his employment with the charitable organization. He was told by the organization to procure a doctor’s note permitting him to return to work. Mr. Hamilton did so, but that note was deemed unacceptable by the organization and he was told to go to another doctor. This second doctor prescribed a two month leave due to the injury and the need for further treatment. Mr. Hamilton’s superior told him that the leave was unacceptable and the organization demanded that he resign his position under threat that he would not be paid his final wages. Mr. Hamilton refused to do so and was terminated after he could not work due to his injuries.
