PRODUCT RECALL: Modesto Based Meat Company Recalls 1 Million Lbs of Frozen Ground Beef

MODESTO – One million pounds of ground beef has been recalled by Valley Meat Company due to possible e-coli contamination.

Aside from ground beef, the product recall also includes beef patties, soy patties, and Angus beef burger.

The affected products have the establishment number “EST. 8268” inside the USDA mark of inspection with production code of 27509 through 01210.

The Modesto based company produced the affected products from October 2, 2009 to January 12, 2010.

According to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) confirmed that seven people have gotten E-Coli from the infected meat.

The affected beef products were sold at several stores in Texas, Arizona, Oregon and California.

FSIS advises consumers to check their freezers and discard any products that are included in the recall.
