December 7, 2011

Newport Beach - A 38-year-old mother, Marie Lippincott, is on probe if she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the crash at the Newport Harbor High School occurred.

Reports said Lippincott was driving her Chevy Tahoe northbound on Irvine Avenue when she happened to strike Crystal Morales, 17, who is a classmate of her son yesterday.

Newport Beach Police Department spokesperson Kathy Lowe said that the suspect was charged with driving under the influence and causing injury.

Based on the email from Michael Vossen, Newport Harbor Principal, Morales is now in critical condition after sustaining a head trauma, internal bleeding, brain swelling and other internal injuries.
