CAR CRASH: Palm Springs Driver Dies after Running a Red Light, Slamming into Truck

Palm Springs - A 73-year-old driver died after he ran a red light and crashed into a truck along Crossley Road and Dinah Shore Drive.

According to reports, George Batsakes was heading north along Crossley in his BMW sedan when he failed to stop at a red light and slammed into a Verizon work truck that was moving east along Dinah Shore.

Batsakes died while the truck driver sustained injuries that were described as non-life threatening.

Reports said authorities were forced to close the intersection of Crossley Road and Dinah Short drive as well as portions of both streets along the area for over five hours after the accident occurred.
