VEHICLE COLLISION: Patient Dies, 5 Others Injured In Riverside Ambulance Crash

Riverside – A fatal car accident involving an ambulance killed one person and injured five other people in Riverside last night.

The fatality was identified as 47-year old Ann Layton of Moreno Valley, who was a patient being transported by the ambulance.

According to Riverside County Fire officials, the crash occurred at about 10:45 pm when the ambulance and a car collided off Ironwood Avenue and Pigeon Pass Road.

The crash injured the driver of the car, as well as 2 paramedics and 2 firefighters.

All were brought to a nearby hospital by 3 more ambulances sent to the scene.

The five suffered minor to moderate injuries and will recover soon.

The circumstances about how the collision occurred are still unclear.
