CAR ACCIDENT: Pedestrian Dies in West LA Intersection Crash

Los Angeles - A man died after he was hit by one of the cars involved in a chain crash at West Los Angeles intersection on Sunday at 10 am.

A pedestrian in his 40s, was killed after two cars collided at 1600 Federal Avenue near Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles Police officers said.

According to reports, a car driver was heading south of Federal when it crashed onto an eastbound car at Santa Monica Boulevard. The eastbound driver swerved and hit a pedestrian at southeast of the intersection.

The eastbound driver continued to swerve and struck another vehicle at a gas station. He sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Paramedics treated the southbound driver with minor injuries.

Los Angeles police officers are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.

Authorities resumed operations on Santa Monica Boulevard in the afternoon.
