Police Investigating Sobriety of Victim in Escondido Pedestrian Accident

Escondido – Authorities are currently determining the sobriety of the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident in Escondido this weekend.

The unidentified victim, who is believed to be between 35 and 45 years old, was struck by two vehicles while trying to cross Centre City Parkway at Washington Avenue at bout 12:35 a.m.

According to reports from Escondido Police, the man was struck first by a 1999 white Nissan Frontier pickup that was heading north.

The man fell on the ground and he was run over by the pickup. After which, he was struck by a white 1999 Buick LaSabre.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Both drivers stopped and cooperated with authorities.

Alcohol was ruled out as a factor for either driver.
