Santa Ana - Authorities have arrested a man believed to be responsible for the killing of a two-year old boy and causing injuries to his mother and his one year old sister, reports said.

Police said the fatal accident occurred while the toddler was walking along with his mother and one year-old sister. Witnesses said a car traveling at high speed came and struck the three.

The driver, who was later found to be drunk, tried to flee but witnesses were able to take down the license number until the police tracked down the vehicle and arrested the 23 year-old suspect, later identified as Angel Perez.

The two year-old boy, who was pulled under the car, died at UC Irvine Medical Center while the mother and the sister are expected to recover.

Police continue with their investigations.
