Police Searching for Identity of Pedestrian Accident Victim

Covina – Police are searching for the identity of the pedestrian who got struck by a car in Covina yesterday, authorities said.

According to reports, the unidentified woman was crossing Barranca Avenue at Italia Street when she was hit by a Ford Mustang that was going southbound.

The woman was in a crosswalk when the accident happened.

The victim was flown to USC Medical Center where she underwent surgery after sustaining life-threatening injuries.

According to Covina police, the woman had no identification card with her but she was described to be in her 30s.

The 23-year-old woman who was driving the Mustang stayed on the scene to answer questions for the police.

According to witnesses, the car was moving at about 30-35 mph; the speed limit in Barranca Avenue is 35 mph.

Police also said that there was no alcohol or drugs in the driver’s system.

No one was cited for the car accident at the moment as the police have not finished their investigation.
