Personal Injury Law: Police to set up DUI checkpoint in Monterey Park during Weekend

July 21, 2010

Monterey Park – Authorities are planning to set up checkpoints in the area on Friday to get drunken drivers off the road and to check on valid driver’s licenses, a police press statement said.

The police said they will not specify the exact locations where the checkpoints will be set up in order to catch erring motorists. The checkpoint will start from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police warned that vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers will be impounded for 30 days while cars and trucks driven by drunk drivers will not be released until the next day.

The program was part of police efforts to reduce and curb DUI-related accidents.
