CAR ACCIDENT: Riverside PD and CHP to Crackdown Drunk Drivers for Two Weeks

August 18, 2011

Riverside– California Highway Patrol and Riverside Police Department will double their efforts in restraining motorists who will be found to be driving under the influence of alcohol in Riverside County beginning Friday, reports said.

CHP authorities say that the crackdown is part of a national campaign called “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” The end-of-summer campaign will start at 6 pm Friday up to September 5.

According to news reports, Riverside police Chief Sergio Diaz said that they will deploy extraordinary numbers of police officers on weekend nights.

Diaz claimed that weekend nights are particularly dangerous times for innocent victims of car accidents due to drunk drivers, reports said.
