SUV CRASH: SUV crashes into a kitchen; driver suspected of DUI

July 8, 2010

Los Angeles – A SUV crashed straight into a house at Block 22000 of Woodland Hills early Thursday morning.

Authorities rushed to Providencia Street, west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, at 1:51 a.m. to see the SUV wedged into the kitchen wall of an unnamed family.

Reports show that the female driver crashed the SUV into two parked cars, veered into the yard, and slammed into the side of the house. It came to rest after plowing through the kitchen. It was then when the mother woke up and saw the vehicle.

The four people, two adults and two children, were asleep on the opposite side of the house at that time the crash occurred. Fortunately, none of them were hurt and despite the wreckage, the house is still structurally sound and has not been red-tagged.

The driver, meanwhile, was checked for sobriety at the crash scene. She was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending for her.

The family rented and moved in to the house just a few months ago. They are now staying with friends.
