RECREATIONAL VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Segway Boss killed in Segway Accident

September 29, 2010

West Yorkshire, UK – A Segway accident has claimed the life of the head of the company that produces the said vehicles yesterday morning.

Reports said James Heselden, the 62-year-old owner of Segway Inc, was last seen by witnesses riding a personal transporter before he accidentally drove off a 30 foot high cliff and into the river.

The body of the British millionaire was found in the water.

The police do not suspect foul play as of the moment.

In their website, Segway inc. confirmed Heselden’s death in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire.

The death of Heselden came just before the release of a study that shows a significant increase in injuries related to Segway accidents.

According to the study on the cases handled by The George Washington University Hospital Emergency Department, the number of injuries related to the personal transporter increased to 25 in the first eleven months of 2008 from just 5 in the last months of 2005.
