VEHICLE PILEUP: Semi Driver Dies after Hitting Several Vehicles on LA Freeway

October 28, 2010

Los Angeles - A male semi-truck driver, from Huntington Beach, has died after he crashed into several vehicles along the northbound I-405, said reports.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers identified the driver as William Bradfield.

Reports said Bradfield was traveling north on National Boulevard at around 4:30 p.m. when he suddenly lost control of the semi and crashed into multiple vehicles after suffering from a medical condition, which is believed to be a heart attack.

Authorities said the semi came to a rest along Santa Monica Boulevard.

Bradfield received immediate medical treatment at the accident area and was then brought to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, where he was announced dead. His cause of death is likely a heart attack, said police.

Some occupants of the other vehicles that Bradfield hit sustained minor to moderate injuries.
