TRUCK ACCIDENT: Sleepy Truck Driver Causes 5,000 chickens to Scatter on Vacaville Freeway

October 21, 2011

Vacaville – Authorities have confirmed that drowsy driving was the cause of the collision between two big rig trucks in Northern California which forced the Interstate 80 to close, reports said.

According reports, the driver of a poultry truck had fallen asleep and had swerve on the freeway in Vacaville before crashing into another big rig carrying jugs of water.

Because of the truck accident, the crates holding the 5,000 live chickens inside of one of the big rigs were tossed into the freeway.

The incident caused unexpected heavy traffic and injury to some of the motorists who tried to avoid the chickens, reports added.
