ROAD SAFETY LAW: Speeding Man Who Drove with Wife on Hood Faces Stiffer Charges

March 04, 2011

Manteca - Christopher Carroll, the man charged with speeding while driving his minivan with his wife clinging to the windshield wiper blade for over 40 miles, is also facing attempted murder charges, reports said.

According to reports, Carroll drove in excessive speed from Manteca to Pleasanton with his wife on the hood.

Although, Carroll had admitted his guilt, the judge rejected his plea and he was ordered to appear next week for the arraignment.

Police reports said the incident started with a heated argument between Carroll and his wife. When Carroll tried to drive away, his wife tried to stop him by clinging on the wiper blades.

Fortunately, the wife was able to get off unharmed. She was treated for hypothermia.

Carroll was later arrested and charged for speeding and is now being held without bail.
