Striking Drunk Driving Ads

Drunk driving statistics continue to increase, year after year despite numerous efforts from both the public and private sector to curb the trend.

Even more alarming, female DUI drivers are also increasing. The Federal Bureau of Investigation estimates that there are 1.5 million arrests made every year for impaired driving.

A 2007 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study estimated that 13,452 of the approximately 15,000 alcohol-related crash deaths in 2005 were directly attributable to alcohol. If the drivers were not drunk, 13,452 deaths could have been prevented.

But people can be hard-headed or at the very least, overly optimistic in their belief that drunk driving accidents can’t happen to them. After all, a beer or two cannot hurt anyone, right?

Wrong! The effects of alcoholic drinks vary greatly because the rate of absorption and it may vary from person to person because of factors such as weight, amount of fat tissue, and stomach contents.

So in order to drive the point more firmly across, here are some anti-drunk driving ads that pack a punch.
