AIRPLANE ACCIDENT: Three Americans die in Honduras Plane Crash

Los Angeles - At least three Americans were killed after the Central American Airways plane crashed close to Tegucigalpa on Monday at 7 a.m.

According to reports, three US citizens were pronounced dead after the twin-engine Let L-410 ram down into Las Mesitas, about 13 miles from Tegucigalpa.

The pilot was approaching the runway when he encountered a low visibility area, succeeding the accident. At least 11 other Honduran citizens were killed, Central American Airways representative said.

The small plane was en route from north San Pedro Sula to the capital city. Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
