HEAD-ON COLLISION: Wrong-Way Driver Dies after Colliding Head-On with Big Rig

San Bernardino County - A 42-year-old wrong-way driver has died after colliding head-on with a big-rig along Interstate 40, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said.

The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes near the Newberry Springs at around 9:53 pm.

According to reports, the driver, Rudy Telles, was traveling in a Nissan 200SX when he collided head-on with a Freightliner tractor which was pulling a trailer. He was then thrown off the vehicle, causing him to sustain fatal injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the fatal accident.
