VEHICLE COLLISION: Wrong-Way Driver Dies after Colliding with Truck in Turlock

November 9, 2010

Turlock - A 55-year-old female driver has died after she collided with a Chevrolet truck while driving her Honda against traffic along the southbound lanes of Highway 99, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.

Reports said the driver, Harmanpreet Kaur, from Ceres, was moving north at around 70-80 mph along the southbound fast lane when she suddenly collided head-on with a truck being driven by Jeffrey Wilson, 36, from Bakersfield.

Reports said the impact caused the car to move towards the center median. Meanwhile, the truck went off the right shoulder of the road and headed straight into a ditch.

Kaur was announced dead at the accident area.

Reports said Wilson was rushed to Memorial Hospital in Modesto to receive immediate medical treatment for major injuries, which appeared to be non-life threatening while his passenger sustained minor injuries and was brought to Doctors Medical Center.
