Who would have thought that a simple birthday celebration could cause a “freak accident”?
A “freak accident” is what the witness has labeled the mishap last Saturday just after 5 p.m. at 20500 block of W. Pacific Coast Highway after attending a birthday celebration of a friend.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to the scene wherein a total of nine people were injured, four of which were taken to the hospital. The deck’s integrity along with the weight of all the people on the balcony most likely caused the crash, making the victims helpless and shocked as they fell to the rocks below. Fortunately, no serious injuries and fatality were reported, even though jagged large rocks were the balcony crashed onto, as Captain Ron Haralson of the LA County Fire Department stated.
