The chase ended with a crash and stand-off, closing the freeway and backing up the 405 Freeway.<\/p>\n<p>According to police reports, the driver was an assault suspect armed with a shotgun. During the chase, the driver had crashed into a vehicle near Central Avenue and then into a pickup. The car was heavily damaged with the front smashed by the time the chase ended near Cherry.<\/p>\n<p>At least a dozen police vehicles surrounded the driver.
