Hit-And-Run In Long Beach Ends In Man’s Death; Driver Being Sought

Officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of a man’s body lying in the second eastbound lane of Willow Street.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity has not been confirmed.

An investigation found that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Willow Street at Delta Avenue and struck the victim in the second lane.

The driver fled the scene. However, a witness followed the suspect’s vehicle and was able to get their license plate number. Police used this to track the vehicle to a North Long Beach residence.

The vehicle was significantly damaged and contained other evidence linking it to the hit-and-run crime scene.
