Woman shot by foam bullet is suing LAPD for $10 million

Jasmine Morales, 26, was driving to Target and encountered a protest over the killing of George Floyd on the night of May 30th. She has filed a claim alleging an LAPD official struck her in the head with a foam bullet as she was operating her vehicle. Jasmine was not participating in the protest and it was projected that the foam bullet went through her driver’s side window. She suffered severe injuries leaving her with stitches, brain injuries, a fractured cheekbone, bruising and impaired vision; she was hospitalized for nine days. According to her attorney, witnesses have stated that the police officers shot fire from inside their patrol vehicle.

Jasmine’s claim seeks $10 million from the city of Los Angeles for personal injuries.
